Competition Council Clears Carmistin’s Takeover of Provimi & Vivendi

August 6, 2025

The Competition Council has authorized the transactions through which the Carmistin Group intends to acquire the companies Provimi Romania SRL and Vivendi Food SRL.   The Carmistin Group comprises over 20 companies operating in agriculture, feed production, and poultry and livestock farming. The group also conducts activities in the energy sector, business and management consulting, and the buying and selling of its own real estate.   Provimi Romania SRL operates in the production and sale of animal and poultry feed. Vivendi Food SRL is active in the trade of live pigs, day-old chicks, and fresh poultry meat.   Following its analysis, the Competition Council found that the two transactions do not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or a substantial part of it, and there are no serious doubts regarding their compatibility with a normal competitive environment. The decisions will be published on the website of the national competition authority, after the removal of confidential information.
