As many as 71% of Romanians believe that Romania is heading in the wrong direction, and 38% would vote the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) if elections were held next Sunday, according to a Flashdata poll conducted July 10-12.To the question whether Romania is currently heading in a good or wrong direction, 71% answered "wrong", 23% assessed the direction as "good", and 6% refused to answer.If the parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 38% of respondents said they would vote the Alliance of the Union of Romanians (AUR); 18% the Social Democratic Party (PSD); 16% the Save Romania Union (USR); 4.5% the Hungarian democratic Union of Romania(UDMR); 1.5% SOS; 0.5% the Party of Young People (POT); 5.5% Other/Don't answer.Confidence in the Romanian government managing the economic situation well is low among those who answered the questions, with 31% believing that the government will manage the economic situation to a very small extent, while 21% consider that the situation will be managed well to some extent, 18% - to a large extent, and 11% - to a small extent, while 19% said that "they do not know/do not answer."When asked whether progressive taxation will reduce the gap between rich and poor, 26% answered "yes, to some extent", 24% - "not really", 19% - "not at all", and 15% said "don't know/don't answer."The main problem/danger for the Romanian society in the next two years is corruption - 32.5%, followed by the economic situation - 29%, health - 12%, war (regional conflicts) - 10%, education - 5%, political leaders (lack of representativeness) - 5%, housing costs - 3%, environmental problems - 1.5%, don't know/don't answer - 2%.When asked what is more effective for the economy - tougher measures in the short term or softer measures in the longer term, 48% said that soft measures in the long term would be more effective, and 43% - tough measures in the short term."In your opinion, what party is most capable of protecting the living standards of Romanians?", was another question, to which 33% answered AUR, 26% - PSD, 14% - USR, 13% - PNL, 4% - UDMR, 1% - SOS, while 9% said "I don't know/I don't answer".The survey was conducted on a sample of 7,500 respondents, aged over 18 years.The validation of the sample was carried out according to the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP) data on voter turnout, in the presidential election round 1 of May 4.
