PM Bolojan : Decision to be made in coalition on how packages of measures to be adopted

July 29, 2025

The decision on how the reform measures envisaged by the Government through Package 2, which aims, among others, at local and central public administration, education, health, public order, will be taken by the end of July within the governing coalition, declared Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The prime minister presented on Friday, in a press conference at the Victoria Palace, together with the Minister of Development, Cseke Attila, a set of measures that will be part of Package 2, regarding the reform of local public administration."A decision will be made in the coalition on how these packages will be adopted from a legal point of view. You will find out by the end of July, when all these procedures will be finalized," said Ilie Bolojan, when asked whether the Government will assume responsibility for Package 2 or send the project to Parliament for debate and approval. In the same context, the prime minister gave assurances that in order to finalize Package 2 of reform measures, the government will take into account the proposals of all parties in the governing coalition."I have also said that we will take into account the proposals of all the parties in the governing coalition, so as to include them in the next packages, including the proposal of our colleagues from the PSD. Given the situation in which our country finds itself, I believe that each of us - and at least as far as I am concerned, this is what I will do - needs to support political stability, which in turn generates fiscal stability, taking into account the fact that political stability plays an important role in what the country's rating means, in terms of the interest that Romania pays on the loans it is forced to take in the coming period. So, I will seek to make this coalition work for Romania", pointed out Ilie Bolojan, when asked about certain statements coming from the PSD, according to which the social democrats could consider a consultation internal party regarding leaving the government if their proposals are not taken into account.  (Photo:https://gov.ro/)
