Infrastructure: Cluj-Napoca airport's H1 passenger traffic at 1.6 ml

August 4, 2025

Passenger traffic at the 'Avram Iancu' International Airport in Cluj-Napoca hit over 1.6 million in the first half of 2025, 11% more than in the same period of 2024, the air facility said in a release.Other activity numbers in the reporting period were as follows: over 13,750 aircraft movements (+12% y-o-y); an ACI Europe nomination among the large regional airports with the most consistent air traffic dynamics in May 2025 (+12.8% vs. May 2024); the best month of June in the airport's history - June 2025, with over 338,000 passengers, marking a 13.6% increase compared to June 2024; significant growth in the tourist charter sector (+43%) and domestic flights (+23%).Italy ranked first on the list of destination countries for regular flights from Cluj International Airport, with a total of 286,000 registered passengers, followed by Germany with 225,000 registered passengers, and Spain with a total of 188,000 registered passengers. Romania (177,000 passengers) and the United Kingdom (152,000 passengers) are next in the ranking."H1 2025 was the best half-year in the history of the company in terms of passenger traffic, and this achievement marks not only a consistent increase in passenger volumes, but also a reinforcement of the position of Cluj International Airport among competing airports in the Transylvania region, reflecting equally the airport's responsibility to provide high-quality services, as well as its commitment to offering a pleasant passenger experience. Passenger air traffic data from recent years, as well as the solid figures from H1 2025 prove the fact that the Cluj airport has become increasingly attractive, and the strategic partnerships with various air operators have played a particularly important role in this success," the cited release also states.  (Photo:https://www.facebook.com/)
