Anastasiu: At national level, 266 companies generate losses of 2.5 billion lei

Deputy premier Dragos Anastasiu announced on Tuesday, that 266 public companies generate losses of 2.5 billion lei, while seven of them have losses of two billion lei, after receiving subsidies. He pointed out that the list includes companies like CFR Marfa, CFR SA, Termoenergetica, Metrorex, Electrocentrale Craiova SA, Unifarm SA.   Dragos Anastasiu presented on Tuesday, at a press conference, a situation concerning state companies. “According to the Agency for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Performance of Public Enterprises( AMEPIP) we have 1,326 public companies. They are either 100% owned by the state, or the state a majority shareholder. We have 1,182 at local level or are decided in shareholding companies, autonomous companies and small companies. Therefore we have 376 shareholding companies, 88 autonomous companies and 842 small companies,” said the deputy premier.   According to him, 173,000 or the 256,000 employees in all public enterprises are in 315 companies which have 9.6% of incomes of all state companies.   The deputy premier announced that state subsidies amount to 14 billion lei. Profits of all companies are 15 billion lei, without subsidies.   The deputy premier also presented the situation of losses. “And now, the situaiton of losses. At national level, 266 enterprises generate losses of 2.5 billion lei. Of them 7 companies generate losses of 2 billion lei after receiving subsidies. They are CFR SA, Electrocentrale Craiova, Unifarm SA, Transport Feroviar Marfa CFR Marfa, Termoenergetica SA, Metrorex SA, Complex Energetic Valea Jiului SA. You can see that on AMEPIP website as of tomorrow,” Anastasiu said.   He referred to the situation of local companies. “There are 1,182 local companies of which 270 shareholding companies, 78 autonomous companies and 834 small companies. About 300 companies did not present financial data and we know nothing about them. About 250 companies have zero incomes. That means 550 companies with zero incomes or we know nothing about them, out of 1182 companies,” the deputy premier added.   According to him, about 230 companies have recorded losses. About 600 companies have up to ten employees. There are 326 companies in the water-sewarage activity area. “About half of them have profit, we know nothing about the other half or they have losses. 146 are sanitation companies of which 76 are profitable , 30 have losses, we know nothing about 26. There are 61 transport companies, of which 41 profitable, ten have losses and 5 did not present financial data,” said Dragos Anastasiu. “On the overall we have an important inefficiency in the area of those companies, 46% of their profits represent Hidroelectrica. We also have some very profitable companies as well as companies about which we have no financial data, have a very low profit or have losses,” Anastasiu declared.   He also presented in detail the situation of administration board. “What is happening with administration boards? 354 positions are provisional in central companies. This is one of the problems of the Romanian state which we must solve because we have targets in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to solve provisional situations. That happens with 59 companies, while 309 positions are permanent. As for local companies, 493 positions are provisional and 1,919 are permanent,” according to Dragos Anastasiu. (Photo: www.gov.ro)
