Romanian Navy acquires three maritime tugs for about 150 million lei

The Navy Staff (SMFN) announced on Wednesday the signing with a Turkish company of a framework agreement on the acquisition of three seagoing tugs worth more than 149 million lei.‘ The Navy Staff through CN Romtehnica SA and the Turkish company Med Marine Kilavuzluk ye Romorkor Hizmelteri Ins. San Ve Tic A.S. recently signed the framework agreement regarding the acquisition of three seagoing tugs, worth 149,241.075,00 lei without VAT. The framework agreement which includes the signing, later, of subsequent contracts was attributed to the company Med Marine following a procedure of negotiation, with the previous publication of a participation announcement and is valid for a period of two years since the signing date’ says the press release sent by SMFN.   According to the quoted source, the delivery date for the tugs is maximum 24 months since the effective date of signing every contract subsequent to the framework agreement.The seagoing tugboats can carry out a wide range of missions, such as providing towing manoeuvres and pushing ships to the port, the raid and the coastal area, ensuring manoeuvres of connecting ships to the port, carrying out accompanying manoeuvres, extinguishing fires on board ships, limiting and neutralizing oil pollution, search-rescue at sea, research against mines in ports and access passes in ports of Constanta, Constanta Mangalia and Midia, the statement said.The Navy Staff (SMFN) as contracting authority through CN Romtehnica SA as commissioner made all legal procedures for the signing of the framework agreement for the acquisition of three seagoing tugs.CN Romtehnica SA is the only economic operator authorized in the Ministry of National Defence by the Romanian government through Decision no.738 of 16 July 2001 to negotiate, to sign and to develop import contracts for goods and services destined to defence of the public order and national security.
