Romania's President Nicusor Dan will pay an official visit to Salzburg, Austria, July 25-26, at the invitation of his Austrian counterpart Alexander Van der Bellen.According to the Romanian Presidential Administration, Dan will also meet Austrian Chanceller Christian Stocker and deliver a speech to businesspeople attending the Salzburg 2025 summit.Also, Dan is Van der Bellen's guest of honour at the Salzburg Festival, a cultural event of reference."The visit to Austria offers the opportunity to boost bilateral dialogue at political level, and also economically, and will focus on increasing mutual investment, in order to better meet the current needs of economic development. Austria is currently one of the main foreign investors in Romania, with a significant presences in key areas such as energy, banking services, infrastructure, agriculture and is also an important trading partner," according to the Presidential Administration.Other items on the agenda of the visit regard the Romanian community in Austria, well integrated into the local society, home affairs cooperation, education and culture."The European Union Strategy for the Danube Region remains a pillar of coordination between the two nations at regional level, with objectives set to deepen cohesion between riparian states and promoting more sustained joint projects of cross-border interest, including in terms of connectivity, environmental protection and sustainable development,"Discussions will also focus on current issues on the European agenda, mainly the European Commission's proposals on the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, migration and support for the enlargement process, both with the Western Balkan states and with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
