The Romanian Ministry of National Defence (MApN) announced that during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, Russian forces launched a "massive drone attack" targeting civilian infrastructure in the Ismail area of Ukraine, near the Romanian border.MApN's radar systems detected aerial targets in Ukrainian airspace close to Tulcea County at 01:10 a.m., prompting a RO-Alert warning to residents in the northern part of the county, the ministry said in a press release on Wednesday."Two Romanian F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to monitor national airspace, with no unauthorized incursions detected," the release specifies.MApN says that it will conduct verification operations in the area and that NATO allies are being informed in real time.The Ministry of National Defence firmly condemned these "aggressive and unjustified" actions by the Russian Federation, which "blatantly defy" international law and endanger regional security. The damage includes a main gas pipeline as well as the destruction of production equipment.
