Over 4.693 million pensioners at the end of July 2025

A total of 4,693,461 pensioners were registered in July 2025 in Romania, 120 fewer than in the previous month, and the average pension was RON 2,769, according to data centralized by the National Public Pensions House (CNPP).   The total amount of pension rights due amounted to 12.993 billion lei.   Of the total number of pensioners, 550,738 had worked in agriculture and the average pension was 711 lei.   According to CNPP statistics, the number of those who retired at the age limit was 3,748,352 people, including 2,146,592 women, while the average pension was 3,096 lei.   In July 2025, 3,911 people received an early retirement pension (average pension 3,965 lei), 93,846 people received a partial early retirement pension (average pension 2,785 lei) and 406,764 people received a disability pension (average pension 1,119 lei), including 45,492 people for the first degree of disability (average pension 973 lei).   In the same month, a survivor's pension was granted to 440,490 people (1,495 lei, average pension), while social assistance was granted to 98 pensioners (540 lei, average).
