The gram of gold went up by 1.3209 lei (0.26%), reaching a quotation of 496,2661 lei from 494.9452 lei, as announced by the National Bank of Romania on Wednesday, recording a new record value. The national currency appreciated against the euro, which was calculated by BNR at 5.0772 lei, on the drop by 0.07 bani (-0.01%) against the previous quotation of 5.0779 lei. The leu lost ground in front of the US dollar, which was quoted at 4.3611 lei, on the rise by 0.63 bani (0.14%), compared to Wednesday when it was 4.3548 lei. The national currency appreciated against the Swiss franc, calculated by BNR at 5.4165 lei, dropping by 0.46 bani (-0.08 %) against 5.4211 lei, the previous quotation.
