"Concordia 25" exercise exercise to tests crisis response capabilities in nine counties of Romania

The National Defence Ministry (MApN) in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), the Protection and Guard Service (SPP), the Special Telecommunications Service (STS) organizes between September 8-12 the interinstitutional exercise called "Concordia 25."According to the MApN, the activities will take place in the counties of Alba, Bacau, Cluj, Constanta, Covasna, Harghita, Neamt, Maramures and Mures.Coordinated by the Defence Staff, the exercise aims to strengthen crisis response capabilities and increase national resilience. Moreover, it will also test and improve joint operational procedures, including those for managing potential CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) incidents.Throughout the exercise, there will be certain activities including patrol operations, mobile camps, public order missions, drone usage, demining operations in marine areas, medical assessments and actions to counter cyber threats. Participating units include mountain troops, artillery, engineering, CBRN, EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) specialists, air and naval forces, as well as military medical structures.The "Concordia" exercise is held annually and aims to strengthen cooperation between institutions in the national defence and security area, in order to ensure a rapid, coordinated and effective response to civil emergency situations, to the benefit of citizens' security.
