President Dan talks with Sweden's Prime Minister about NATO's deterrence of Russian threats

President Nicusor Dan met on Thursday with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, on the sidelines of the European Political Community meeting."Romania and Sweden have a very close bilateral, European and allied cooperation. We focused our discussion on further developing our economic and investments ties, with a special focus on the defence industry. We also discussed how to enhance the allied deterrence in front of threats posed by Russia," the head of state wrote on his Facebook page.President Nicusor Dan is attending the 7th meeting of the European Political Community, which takes place in Copenhagen, the Kingdom of Denmark, according to the Presidential Administration.According to the quoted source, the agenda also includes the conflict in Ukraine and ensuring European security. Within the European Political Community, President Nicusor Dan will also participate in the round table regarding the security situation in Europe and aspects related to resilience.Upon arriving at the meeting, he said that discussions would focus on the situation in the Republic of Moldova following the parliamentary elections, the drone threat, disinformation and Russian influence.He will also present, at this meeting, the Prosecutor General's report on the annulment of the presidential elections of December 2024 in Romania, with the head of state mentioning that this is Romania's initiative.Nicusor Dan had also attended the informal meeting of the European Council the previous day.
