Bucharest to host Romanian Fashion Week on Wednesday and Thursday

   Romanian Fashion Week (RFW) will take place in Bucharest for the first time in its 25-year history, on Wednesday and Thursday.The event will maintain its traditional spring edition in Iasi, while the autumn edition will now be hosted by the capital, organisers announced on Tuesday in a press release sent on Tuesday.This new edition of Romanian Fashion Week will be held at the TVR Studios, starting at 8:00 PM, and will be broadcast on the public television's online channels as well as on Romanian Creative Week's digital platforms.Public access is by invitation only. The beauty teams participating in Romanian Fashion Week are coordinated by Alexandru Abagiu (Lancôme) and Sorin Stratulat (L'Oréal Professionnel).The first fashion night, titled New Wave, scheduled for Wednesday, 8 October, is dedicated to young designers and is curated by Ioana Ciolacu and Lucian Broscateanu.The catwalk will feature Beghim Genghiz, Mara Popa, Pif Stephano, Ionut Razvan, Constantine, Daniel Radu, Robert Roca and Ramona Bizbac - a new generation bringing forward fresh ideas, experimental forms and an authentic visual narrative.The second evening, titled Romanian Designers, set for Thursday, 9 October, under the direction of Ovidiu Buta, brings together ten of Romania's most prominent fashion names: Axente, Bol Fashion of Nature by Oana Lupas, Ioana Ciolacu, Tudor Halatiu, Lenca, Scapadona, Irina Schrotter, Caravasili, Laura Lazar and Tearless Street.These established designers will present collections that outline the fashion trends for the Spring-Summer 2025 season.Romanian Fashion Week was founded in Iasi 25 years ago at the initiative of Irina Schrotter, as a platform dedicated to Romania's fashion industry. In 2021, the event expanded to include creatives from 12 other domains, such as visual arts, architecture, film, dance and new media, laying the foundation for Romanian Creative Week (RCW), now a major European project.2023, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) recognised RCW as the largest event dedicated to the creative industries in the European Union, and in 2025, the Romanian Ministry of Culture included it on the shortlist of Romania's strategic cultural projects.
