President Dan: I welcome agreement for ceasefire and safe return of all hostages from Gaza

Romania's President Nicusor Dan on Thursday welcomed the agreement between Israel and Hamas for ceasefire and the release of all hostages in Gaza, conveying that Romania keeps its commitment to support the efforts aimed at achieving a lasting pace in the Middle East."I warmly welcome the agreement for a ceasefire and the safe return of all Israeli hostages from Gaza. I commend the efforts and valuable leadership of President DonaldTrump, as well as of Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye and all the partners involved in securing this important breakthrough in the negotiations. This brings much needed hope for peace and stability for the region. Romania remains committed to supporting the efforts aimed at achieving a lasting peace in the Middle East," Nicusor Dan wrote on X platform.Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on Wednesday on the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan for Gaza: a ceasefire and a deal on the release of hostages, which could pave the way for ending the two-year war that has destabilised the Middle East.
