Romanian military personnel in operation theatres

The Chief of the Defense Staff, General Gheorghita Vlad, had on Wednesday a videoconference with the command teams of the Romanian structures deployed in the operation theatres, on the sidelines of the activities organized on the occasion of marking the Romanian Army Day."The command teams of the detachments deployed by the Romanian Army in the EUFOR ALTHEA operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EUTM RCA mission in the Central African Republic, the NATO KFOR operation in the Kosovo Operation Theatre, the NATO MISSION IN IRAQ/NMI operation in the IRAQ Operation Theatre, the mission of the Anti-Tank Platoon deployed in Slovakia, as well as the leaderships of the Romanian military detachments deployed in Bulgaria and Poland presented information on the status of the carrying out the missions", reads a press release of the Ministry of Defense (MApN).According to the cited source, General Vlad thanked the Romanian military personnel in operation theatres, at posts abroad or in missions under NATO, EU and UN mandate for the professionalism, dedication and team spirit demonstrated in carrying out missions and for the way they represent Romania in cooperation with partners and allies.Romania ensures until January 2026 the leadership of the European Union Operation EUFOR ALTHEA in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which approximately 430 servicemen are deployed, as well as the leadership of the European Union Mission to support the Central African authorities in the areas of strategic advice and education for security forces (European Union Training Mission in Central African Republic - EUTM RCA), the Ministry of National Defense recalled.Currently, approximately 1,100 Romanian troops participate in missions and operations under NATO, EU and UN command or mandate.
