Ecumenical Patriarch to arrive in Bucharest on Friday for officiating consecration service of National Cathedral painting

 Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople will arrive in Bucharest on Friday to officiate, on Sunday, together with Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church, the service of consecration of the painting of the National Cathedral.According to the Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate, the event of the arrival in Romania of His Holiness Bartholomew I, Ecumenical Patriarch, will take place, on Friday, at 11:00, in the Presidential Lounge of the "Henri Coanda" International Airport.During the same day, His Holiness will be received by Patriarch Daniel, at the Patriarchal Cathedral on the Hill of Joy."On Friday, we will have a very special event: around 12:30, approximately, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will welcome His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople to the Patriarchal Cathedral. There will also be a Te Deum service after the welcome and, of course, we are eagerly awaiting His Holiness and are glad that he has agreed to participate both in the events occasioned by the autumn feast of the Patriarchal Cathedral, as well as in the blessed moment of the Consecration of the Painting of the National Cathedral, which will take place on October 26," announced last Friday priest Adrian Agachi, patriarchal counselor coordinating the Press and Public Relations Office of the Romanian Patriarchate.He also added that, on October 27, the feast day of Saint Demetrius the New, the Protector of Bucharest, the Divine Liturgy service, held at the Summer Altar, will be led by the Ecumenical Patriarch, together with Patriarch Daniel, members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church and a council of priests and deacons.On November 25, 2018, the Centennial Year of the Greater Union, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople officiated the consecration of the Altar of the National Cathedral, together with His Beatitude Father Daniel, in the presence of members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, clergy, believers and representatives of Romanian society.   (Photo:https://basilica.ro/)
