IntMin Predoiu discusses with delegation of Romania-Turkey CCI on migration and ensuring workforce

Identifying a balance between combating illegal migration and the need to ensure the workforce necessary for the Romanian economy was one of the topics of discussions between the Minister of Internal Affairs, Catalin Predoiu, and a delegation of the Romania-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by Tamer Atalay, which took place on Friday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI).The discussions highlighted the strategic nature of the relationship between Romania and the Republic of Turkey, based on the solid partnership within NATO and on regional cooperation at the Black Sea, alongside the United States of America."Minister Catalin Predoiu emphasized that the relationship with the Turkish business community represents an important component of bilateral cooperation, given that over 20,000 companies with Turkish capital operate in Romania, significantly contributing to economic development and job creation," informs a MAI release.The Turkish side expressed its special respect and appreciation for the work of the Ministry of Interior and for the efforts made in strengthening regional security. Also, representatives of the Turkish business community presented examples of good practices in the fields of defense, software technology, civil defense, traffic solutions, as well as models of public-private partnerships, including in the area of security.During the dialogue, it was emphasized that diplomatic and economic relations are mutually supportive, and their development directly contributes to strengthening regional security and stability."Romania and Turkey have a strategic relationship based on trust, cooperation and common objectives. The Ministry of Internal Affairs remains an active partner in the efforts to consolidate security, stability and economic development in the Black Sea region. Security in this area can be increased through close cooperation between Turkey and Romania, and this is fully understood. In this regard, as Minister of Internal Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, I emphasize that we will continue to permanently strengthen collaboration with the Turkish authorities," said Deputy Prime Minister CatAlin Predoiu, according to the cited source.The Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to support dialogue with the business community and promote initiatives that contribute to strengthening the Romanian-Turkish partnership, both economically and in the security field.
