EuPlătesc: Online payments generate 21% savings in processing costs for retailers, as they are exempt from VAT – a major advantage before Black Friday

October 29, 2025

EuPlătesc, one of Romania's leading payment processors, has announced that starting in August 2025, its online payment and collection processing services will be exempt from VAT, a measure that can bring direct savings up to 21% for retailers. This benefit becomes even more important right before Black Friday campaigns, when transaction volumes and operating costs increase significantly for all merchants.
"The facility that EuPlătesc is making available to its clients comes at an essential moment for the eCommerce market, considering that the rate increase has generated a lot of pressure for the entire economy. At the same time, during the Black Friday and winter holidays period, when the number of processed payments can be more than double (an increase of over 100%) compared to a regular month, any budget reduction matters. Thus, our partners can optimize their cost margins more efficiently and in a more predictable manner, and can redirect the generated savings towards promotional campaigns or additional inventory," declared Valentin Costache, President of the Board of Directors, EuPlătesc.
Besides the financial advantages, the company provides merchants with complete automation of payment and reconciliation processes, reducing the time and resources dedicated to daily operations. The platform ensures a maximum level of security and compliance (PCI-DSS, 3DSecure, Tokenization) and covers an extensive range of payment methods – from recurring payments to quick options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Click to Pay, and RoPay.
Additionally, through integrated solutions, EuPlătesc offers merchants the possibility to accept installment payments, without complex implementation processes, based on the conditions negotiated with the partner banks. This payment method has become increasingly sought-after among customers, representing a strategic component of eCommerce sales growth. Furthermore, market trends show a rising interest in installment payments, especially on Black Friday. Last year, the volume of installment payments processed through EuPlătesc represented 27% on Black Friday, compared to regular months when they averaged below 10%.
By integrating EuPlătesc's services, retailers benefit from complete cost optimization and a competitive advantage during the autumn promotional period. With a robust infrastructure and, tested business continuity process and long-term partnerships in the banking sector, EuPlătesc offers its customers stability and consistent performance, including during peak periods such as Black Friday or winter holidays.
Active since 2006, the company continues to invest in technological resilience, cybersecurity, and the diversification of payment solutions to ensure the optimal functioning of transactions in any context. EuPlătesc aims to remain a trusted partner for local businesses and to actively contribute to the consolidation of the national digital ecosystem.
