PM Bolojan, in Austria: Thank you to Romanian community; you, who are good citizens here, honor us

 Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan began his two-day official visit to Austria on Wednesday by attending the reception organized by Romania's Embassy in Vienna on the occasion of Romania's National Day - December 1.He thanked the Romanian communities in Austria for the way they carry out their activity in this country.Chancellor Christian Stocker also attended the event."I am honored to be in Vienna this evening to mark Romania's National Day. I must thank the Romanian community in Austria for everything they do here, from caring for the elderly, to working in construction and to the most skilled trades they perform. All of you who are here, good citizens, honor us and I thank you for this, I assure you of the respect of the Romanian Government. I must also thank the Austrian people, the Austrian Government, and the authorities here for the way they have received the Romanian community and for the support they have provided for its integration," said Ilie Bolojan.He stressed the importance of sharing the same values: "To all the friends of Romania who are here, I thank you very much for your presence, for your collaboration with the representatives of our country. I believe that we are all united by the same values of freedom, democracy and respect for each other. Thank you once again for your presence and for your friendship."The Romanian PM presented the agenda of the official visit he is making to Austria, at the invitation of Chancellor Stocker."In the meetings we will have tomorrow, together with business people, together with the Chancellor and the Austrian government team, we will continue to develop the collaboration between Romania and Austria. For Romania, Austria is one of the most important partners in Europe, both thanks to the investments of Austrian companies in Romania, the jobs created, but also to the long-term collaborative and respectful relations. I am convinced that we will develop this collaboration economically, in terms of energy, in such a way that our peoples will have something to gain", highlighted Bolojan, who thanked the Austrian Chancellor for participating in the event organized at the Romanian Embassy.   The Romanian community in Austria is a symbol of the friendship between our states, Chancellor Christian Stocker declared on Wednesday evening, as he attended a reception organized by the Embassy of Romania in Vienna on the occasion of Romania's National Day, December 1, together with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who is on a two-day official visit to Austria, and Foreign Minister Oana Toiu.I am very happy to be here today and to celebrate Greater Union Day together two days later. It is an honor for me to be here. Many of you know very well how close and important the relations between our countries, Austria and Romania, are. We see these relations beyond numbers, facts, and data. They shape everyday realities and enrich Austrian society. There are geographical borders between us, but in our hearts we are neighbors. That is why, on behalf of the Republic of Austria, I wish you all many happy returns and convey my appreciation to Romania and to the Government of Romania, said Christian Stocker.The Austrian Chancellor expressed his gratitude for the contribution made by the Romanians who work in Austria in various fields.Romanians are part of the labor market here in Austria and in society. We have representatives from Romania in banks, industry, sports, IT, and healthcare - from the sports field to the highest positions on company boards. We are very grateful to all these Romanians for their contribution. The Romanian community in Austria is a symbol of the friendship between our states. I know the example of my native community very well and I am proud of it, said Stocker.He emphasized that the friendship between the two states has a very long and important history in both economic and cultural relations.The Austrian Chancellor also stressed that this friendship is also reflected in the two states' partnerships at European level, in the European Union, in Brussels, but also in the field of fighting illegal migration.I want to emphasize that we have managed to overcome a difficult stage for Romania. I am aware this happened recently, and I am glad we have succeeded in moving past it and can now look together to the future. Dear Prime Minister, your visit to Vienna, which will continue tomorrow in other formats, is a sign of our friendship and proof that this friendship will be further strengthened.
