President Dan, phone talks with South Korean counterpart on civil nuclear energy, defence industry

President Nicusor Dan held a phone conversation on Thursday morning with his South Korean counterpart, Lee Jae Myung, on matters of interest for the bilateral relations between the two countries."Thank you, President Lee Jae Myung, for the phone call this morning, an excellent step in further developing our solid Strategic Partnership. We had a substantive discussion on topics of mutual interest for our relations and addressed the excellent dynamic of the bilateral dialogue and the most recent developments in our sectorial cooperation, specifically on civil nuclear energy and the defense industry," President Nicusor Dan wrote on his X page.According to the head of state "our top priority is implementing the provisions of our Joint Statement on Strengthening the Strategic Partnership and bringing concrete added value in our bilateral relations."   South Korean exports of Shingung surface to air missiles and K9 self propelled cannons contributed to consolidating the country's defense capacities, said the president of South Korea Lee Jae Myung, during phone tlaks with his Romanian counterpart, Nicusor Dan. President Lee was confident that South Korean companies would play an important role in this respect, said Kim Nam-joon, the spokesman for the Seoul presidency, Yonhap informed.   Lee asked Romania to maintain its interest in involving Korean companies in future nuclear projects. In his turn, Dan praised the technological power and reliability of the South Korean defense industry and expressed his hope that the two countries would collaborate to consolidate cooperation in the defense field.   The two leaders also decided to continue exploring cooperation possibilities in developing ports and infrastructure and in the field of cultural exchanges and interhuman relations.   The South Korean president Lee Jae Myung spoke with Nicusor Dan for the first time over the phone on Thursday. The two presidents talked about means of stimulating cooperation in the defense industry, nuclear energy and other domains, Lee's office announced.
