JustMin Radu Marinescu, European Commissioner for Justice Michael Mc Grath discuss justice independence strengthening

 Justice Minister Radu Marinescu discussed on Tuesday with European Commissioner for Justice and the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection Michael Mc Grath the need to continue efforts to make the act of justice more efficient in order to meet citizens' expectations, strengthen the independence of the judiciary and combat corruption.'Very good discussion this morning with Michael Mc Grath, the European Commissioner for Justice and the Rule of Law, at the start of the JHA Council meeting in Brussels. We reviewed Romania's important progress on the rule of law, as reflected in the Commission's 2025 Report, the need to continue efforts to make the act of justice more efficient to meet citizens' expectations, strengthen judicial independence, the fight against corruption and organised crime including cross-border, strengthening the activity of Eurojust, Europol and the EPPO, digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence in judicial work, the Commission's justice programmes for 2026, the fight against disinformation and ensuring media independence, the anti-corruption and insolvency directives and other matters,' the minister of Justice wrote on his Facebook page.He added that he conveyed the Ministry of Justice's 'firm' intention to continue efforts to strengthen and defend the rule of law, the independence and efficiency of the judiciary and the fight against all forms of crime, to ensure the quality of national legislation in line with EU law and thanked the European Commission for its good cooperation so far in supporting Romania's progress.  (Photo:https://www.facebook.com/)
