Senate President Abrudean praises Romania's defenders at Cincu Training Centre alongside Luxembourg's Claude Wiseler

Senate President Mircea Abrudean said on Tuesday, following an official visit to the Getica Joint National Training Centre in Cincu, Brasov County, together with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Claude Wiseler, that Romania is protected and thanked those who ensure it remains so."In the context of the official visit of the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Claude Wiseler, I visited today the Getica Joint National Training Centre in Cincu, Brasov County, where a detachment of soldiers from Luxembourg is stationed. The military base is a strategic point for strengthening NATO's posture on the Eastern Flank. Located in the heart of Transylvania, the centre spans 104 square kilometres, making it the largest training base in Romania and one of the most important in Central and Eastern Europe (...). Romania is a NATO member and a strategic pillar in defending the Eastern Flank. It is essential that we continue to invest in the Romanian Army: in people, in training bases, and in combat capabilities. Our country is protected, and I thank all those who ensure it remains so. I also thank their families!" Abrudean wrote on Facebook.He noted that since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the Cincu base has been undergoing major development and now permanently hosts the NATO Battle Group Romania, with France as the framework nation and Romanian, French, Belgian, Spanish and Luxembourgish troops - around 1,800 at present."Today we saw flawless coordination, state-of-the-art military equipment, high-performance simulators that allow even remote training from different countries using the same battlefield, modern training and accommodation conditions, great determination and dedication, and at the same time, smiles," the Senate president added.
