International Maarif Schools of Romania

October 29, 2018

Maarif Foundation is opening a school in Romania to offer a universal, multicultural, modern education in a safe, pleasant, and healthy educational environment. Turkish Maarif Foundation serves as Turkey’s outreach to the international educational arena, with the understanding that cultural and civilizational interaction will lead the common good for humanity. Established in 2016, the Maarif Foundation is the only non-profit organization with the authority to open educational institutions on behalf of the Republic of Turkey, along with the Ministry of National Education. Maarif has achieved great progress in relatively short time. In the last two years since its inception, it has initiated educational activities across America, Europe, Asia, and Africa and made a successful entrance to Southeast Europe. Having founded universities and schools in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Maarif is currently establishing an educational institution in Romania, a friendly country with which Turkey has high level of relations and connections. Currently Maarif is represented in 45 countries, operating 156 schools in 29 countries, providing quality education to 17.257 students with an additional possibility of accommodation in its 17 dormitories. Maarif functions with the vision of becoming a truly distinguished institution guided by science, in order to provide a high quality and student-oriented education in a rapidly changing world, which will encourage the students to constant learning and to make a difference in the world. The Maarif International School in Romania will soon welcome its first students, be it Romanian citizens, Turkish expats, or those coming from all over the world. The school will apply the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) program, which is widely accepted to be the best and favored by the best educational institutions in the world. Surely, in addition to academic studies, our students will be supported by a large variety of social, cultural, artistic and sportive activities. Located in Pipera, the school has a 7000 m2 indoor space on an area of approximately 3 hectares, featuring basketball, volleyball and tennis courts as well as an open-air football field. Medical staff will be serving on-site to observe and handle the students’ healthcare problems. Healthy food will be served on campus. The school features cutting-edge computer laboratories for coding and robotic studies alongside smart classrooms and technological equipment designed to develop the students’ relevant skills. Additionally, intensified language lessons and a large library to assist in improving language skills will be at the disposition of the students. In order to follow closely the children’s educational development and counselling needs, the school psychologist will be monitoring our students with special programs for the education pedagogue and the guidance services. Our target is to provide a high-quality education service with professional teachers in all fields, from pre-school to high school level. Our mission is to impart in children a better ability to communicate, to instill a high tolerance and empathy, to instruct ethical and moral thinking. This approach makes it possible to raise individuals with a global perspective with an internalized national culture and identity. We believe that every child is unique, and the full potential of their mental, emotional and spiritual skills should be cherished and valued accordingly. We wish success to all our students in the new academic year and we invite all parents to visit our schools in Romania or elsewhere in the world. Turkish Maarif Foundation Representative Romania
