President Klaus Iohannis signed on Tuesday the decree appointing George Ciamba as Minister-delegate for European Affairs, informs a press release issued by the Presidential Administration.. George Ciamba is a career diplomat and has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of Romania since December 1990, according to the MAE website. Since November 2012 he has been Secretary of State for European Affairs. Previously, George Ciamba was Ambassador of Romania to the Hellenic Republic. Between July 2003 and September 2005, he was Secretary of State for Multilateral Affairs and then, Global Affairs, in the MAE. In this capacity, he coordinated the files associated with the EU (Intergovernmental Conference), NATO, the Council of Europe, the UN and other international organizations.
