Royal Marines Band to attend National Day of Romania military parade

November 26, 2018

The Royal Marines Band, the British Navy’s representative orchestra, will attend the National Day of Romania at the military parade in Bucharest, on Saturday. According to a British Embassy release, the Royal Marines Band will arrive in Romania for several concerts, as part of the Romanian – British military collaboration in the Year of the Centennial. The central point on the agenda of the 41 members of the Royal Marines Band is the participation in the Military Parade on 1 December. This is the first time that such a large staff of a British military orchestra takes part in the National Day of Romania celebrations, a sign of the close relations between the two countries in the field of defense and security, the press release reads. Between 27 November and 3 December, the Royal Marines Band will give a joint performance with the Romanian National Defense Ministry’s representative orchestra, as well as a series of charity concerts organized by the British Embassy in partnership with British nongovernmental organizations active in Romania, such as House of Hope, Light in Europe and Casa Ioana. The members of the band will also hold a musical session at the National Theatre and a concert at Hard Rock Cafe and will visit the British School of Bucharest, the release informs.
