Collaboration accord between EximBank and AFIR to increase European fund absorption

EximBank and the Agency for Rural Investment Financing (AFIR) signed a collaboration accord to support – by financing eligible companies- the acceleration of the absorption of European funds allocated through the Rural Development National Program (PNDR) over 2021-2022.   “We are offering an extensive range of products adapted to the specific and demands of PNDR program, so that eligible end users can access: grant pre - financing credits, credits for co-financing contributions to eligible and not eligible expenses or bank warranty letters to return down payment, “said Traian Halalai, executive president of EximBank, in a press release.   In his turn, Mihai Moraru, the general director of AFIR, says this collaboration accord will concretely support PNDR beneficiaries to obtain advantageous credits. EximBank is a specialized institution which is actively involved in supporting and promoting the Romanian business environment. Its financial instruments are devoted exclusively to the corporate segment and can be accessed in advantageous conditions by any type of commercial company, either IMM or a large company, carried out international transactions, or addresses, or addresses the domestic market.   AFIR is meant to technically implement the technical and financial PNDR 2020. Until the present, 67828 farms,processors, entrepreneurs and public authorities that concluded financing contracts with AFIR to receive European grants through PNDR 2020.   The value of payments made by AFIR, until the present day, to beneficiaries of the program amounts to 7.65 billion euros, which represents a degree of effective absorption of allocated funds of 81.24%. For the transition period of 2021-2022, AFIR has at its disposal funds for agriculture and rural development of 3.28 billion euros.
