The 11th edition of the Festival Bucharest Fringe – the Marathon of Independent Theatre will take place, between 15th and 24th October, 20 new shows to be presented at Teatrul Apropo and partner theatres, as well as online, on www.bfringe.ro.According to a press release sent on Friday, the 2021 edition focuses on theatre and dance shows, hybrid style, inter and transdiciplinary, performances or immersive shows.‘In the present context, where the cultural events organisers must prioritise the safety and health of the teams and the public, the edition of this year will take place in a variety of presentation formulas, from shows which are performed in the public, in the hall, in a limited formula, or which will be broadcast Live Streaming (with/without public), shows which will be pre-recorded and broadcast online’ the quoted source says.The objective for this year is to give back to independent creators the joy of being together, of communicating, of resuming the live connection with the public, and, despite all challenges in the present context, we struggled to find a formula – Live Streaming with public, as well as online which could all human contact which is so necessary’ stated the manager of Teatrul Apropo, the playwright and director Radu Popescu, initiator of the festival, quoted in the press release.The organisers inform that access to the shows with public is on the basis of a valid green certificate, which should confirm complete vaccination or experience of the illness, the maximum capacity of the hall being 50%.Bucharest Fringe – the Marathon of Independent Theatre is organised by Teatrul Apropo, through the Asociatia Teatrul.ro and is one of the biggest and best known festivals dedicated to independent theatre and new generations of artists.The project was co-financed by the Bucharest Town hall through ARCUB in the programme Bucharest – Open City 2021, the Administration of the National Cultural Fund and the ministry of culture.
