Verifone company wants to hire 100 more specialists in Bucharest office

Verifone Romania, a fintech of complete payment and trade solutions at global level, announced on Wednesday that it would extend operations in Bucharest. The company intends to hire 100 specialists next year in the fields: Software, Product Management, Digital Sales, Customer Support and Finance.   “Verifone Romania, a fintech of complete payment and trade solutions at global level, announced on Wednesday that it would extend operations in Bucharest. Last year, Verifone bought 2Checkout company. After a year of presence in the Romanian market, Verifone intensifies efforts to increase the research and innovation team in Romania,” the company announced.   400 employees are now working in Bucharest and the company intends to hire another 100 next year.   “Romanian specialists will have the opportunity to be involved in and contribute to global projects and innovative products in the field of digital  payments and trade, in all its aspects,” the company points out.   The company also offers development programs for employees. Since 40% of the Bucharest team is made of technology specialists, most of these programs are addressed to them.   Development projects in Bucharest involve the latest technologies, from cloud solutions and microservices to crypto coins. Company employees have the opportunity to work with some of the greatest experts in the field, contributing to the future of electronic trade industry, said Peyton O'Connor, Head of Human Resources, Verifone.   Over 60 patents created by Global Engineering employees are patented every year. Verifone is developing a unified global electronic payment and trade platform, regardless of the way in which payment is made, online or offline or by other methods. The global portfolio of the company includes varied payment solutions, from classical payment terminals, to order kiosks from fast food networks, tablets or displays in taxis or specialized payment software.   Peyton O'Connor added that since taking over 2Checkout company, over 10% of the initial team was promoted last year, some employees taking over global roles inside the organization. Also the company promotes an inclusive culture which encourages women's role in the field. There is even a program called Women Mentorship. This year's edition involved over 30 mentors 10% of whom were from Romania.  At Verifone, employees have the opportunity to work in one of the 100 company offices at world level.   Verifone Romania is also offering an internship program devoted to young people - Verifone Internship Program. This year, 9 interns benefited from that program and 5 of them were hired on permanent positions.    In the present pandemic context, the team works from home, office presence is not mandatory. Verifone is a fintech of complete payment and trade solutions serving retail brands worldwide, major financial institutions and directly to more than 600,000 companies. The company global services platform manages over 10 billion online and retail transactions.
