EPP leader about PNL-PSD coalition: Romania needs stability

December 22, 2021

Manfred Weber, the leader of the EPP group in the European Parliament commented on the new PNL-PSD political alliance saying that Romania needed government stability and expressed his confidence that PNL, the new party president Florin Citu and president Klaus Iohannis are involved in Romania's reform.   In Romania we need stability, considering the Covid 19 situation and the economic impact of PNRR. That is why it is all right if the parliament can agree to a government which cam implement things and take Romania forward. As for political considerations, we have full confidence in our colleagues, they have the mandate and stability is a very good result, said Manfred Weber about the alliance between PSD and PNL.   Asked whether he had asked leaders in Romania not to overstep certain “red lines”, Weber answered that he had full confidence in his colleagues in Romania, in PN, in the new party president and in the president of the country that they are engaged in reforming Romania, taking it to a European direction.
