New car registrations go up by almost 25% in February

The number of new car registrations, in Romania, has gone up by 24.92% in February, to a volume of 8,616 units, according to the data of Driving Permits and Vehicle Registration Regime Department (DRPCIV), quoted by Romanian Automobile Makers Association (ACAROM).According to the official statistics, during the first two months of 2022, new car registrations reached 17,593 units, going up by 39.16%, from the similar period of last year, when 12,901 units were registered.The ranking by brands is led, during the interval of January-February, by Dacia - with 4,910 new units registered, followed by Hyundai (1,804), Skoda (1,196), Volkswagen (1,186), Ford (1,162), Toyota (1,103), Renault (1,021), Mercedes (649), Peugeot (542) and Kia (426).Regarding used automobiles, registered in Romania for the first time, their volume has reached in February a number of 24,701 units, going down by 23.7% when comparing to the same period of 2021.Furthermore, for the first two months of the year, on the same segment, there were 49,043 units registered, lower by 24.25% when reported to the reference period, when 64,741 units were recorded.
