PM Ciuca: Apart from humanitarian hub in Suceava, we plan to set up two more, in Sighet and Isaccea

Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca announced on Tuesday that the Romanian authorities, in coordination with those at EU level, have planned, depending on the duration and size of the flow of equipment and materials intended for Ukraine, to open two more humanitarian hubs in Sighet and in the area of southeastern Isaccea locality."A humanitarian aid hub has currently been opened and is operating in Suceava, and the implications of the Romanian state are those carried out by the institutions responsible for this activity and, of course, there is this coordination and involvement at EU level, which, depending on the duration and size of the flow of equipment and materials, we have already planned to additionally (...) set up two [humanitarian aid centres - ed.n.] on the main transport routes, namely Sighet and one here, in the area of Isaccea locality," premier Ciuca said at the end of the visit made at the Isaccea Border Crossing Point in Tulcea County.He was asked by a foreign journalist if there is support from the European Union through Romania for Ukrainian refugees."We have had meetings and discussions at the level of the President of the European Commission, Mrs von der Leyen, we have had meetings at the level of the Commissioner for Home Affairs, we have had meetings with several officials from the European Union and there are already mechanisms in place, allow me to give you an example, the RESCUE Mechanism. There is also readiness, so that all the expenditures that are made by the countries on the border with Ukraine and, are presently ensuring an effort, both material and budgetary, to be able to receive settlements for all the expenditure incurred," Nicolae Ciuca specified.
