Cars: Dacia car sales in Europe went up by 14% in February

Dacia car sales in Europe recorded an advance of 13.6% in February and the market share of the automobile manufacturer went up to 3.6% from 3% in the same period of 2021, according to data released by the the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), according to Reuters.   Statistic data are valid for EU states, Great Britain and EFTA countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. 29,196 Dacia cars were registered in Europe in February, compared to 25,692 in the same period of 2021.   In the first two months of ongoing year, Dacia cars deliveries grew by 16.4% in Europe, while the market share of the automobile manufacturer grew to 3.9% from 3.2% in the same period of 2021.   Dacia car registrations in Europe amounted to 63,294 units, on the rise compared to January-February 2021 (54,363 units).   All big car manufacturers reported sales drops in the first two months of 2022. The French group Renault and Stelliantis reported sales drops of 2.4% and15.1%, while German groups Volkswagen and Mercedes Benz recorded a drop of 7.8% and5.2%. Ford deliveries dropped by 14%.   The 2022 decline comes on the background of the global shortage of semiconductors and disturbances in supply chains, ACEA mentions.   Dacia company was taken over by Renault in 1999. Relaunched in 2004 with Logan car make, Dacia became an important player in the European car market.
