 Virgil Popescu, after the meeting with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan : Romania supports the development of the Gas Southern Corridor

The minister of energy, Virgil Popescu stated on last Friday, after the meeting with the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Istambul, that in the present geopolitical and security context partnership is a priority, and the energy resources should not be used as blackmail weapons, and Romania supports the development of the Gas Southern Corridor.    ‘Together with vice-prime minister  -minister Sorin Grindeanu we had a working meeting with the president of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan’ said Virgil Popescu in a post.   The minister states that he focused on the strenghtening of the cooperation in the domain of energy, in the Strategic Partnership between Romania and Turkey.   "In the current geopolitical and security context, partnership is a priority and energy resources must not be used as blackmail weapons. I told him that Romania supports the development of the Southern gas Corridor and we encourage the partnership between the two States to diversify supply routes," Virgil Popescu said. ‘
