The minister of finances has received from BEI 368 million euro for the construction of the Regional Hospital in Craiova

The minister of finances has announced that he received from the European Bank for Investments (BEI) 368 million euro for the building of the Regional Hospital in Craiova, medical unit to be finalised until 2027.   The minister of finances, Adrian Caciu and the vice-president of the European Bank for Investments, Christian Kettel Thomson have discussed on Monday at the headquarters of the institution about ways to  put to value the financing contract of the new Regional Hospital in Craiova, worth 368 million euro. The loan is the third in the series of financing offered by BEI between 2021 and 2022 for the support of regional emergency  hospitals construction in Romania, after investments in the regional emergency hospital in Iasi and Cluj worth 555million euro, says a press release sent by the ministry of finances.   The financing contract was signed, on the part of Romania by Adrian Caciu, the minister of finances and the BEI governor and Christian Kettel Thomson, vice president of the European Bank for Investments.   The new hospital in Craiova, which is expected to be completed by 2027, will provide state-of-the-art medical services, including cancer treatment, trauma and maternal care.    ‘The European Bank for Investments is a key partner for investments in the domain of medicine in Romania. It is an investment in people for the people. Over 1.9 million people in the south –western part of Romania will benefit from medical services after the construction of the new Regional Hospital in Craiova. The unit will have 807 beds for hospitalization and 130 beds and portable beds for outpatient treatments and will provide state-of-the-art medical services, including cancer, trauma treatment and maternal assistance. Similarly, after the finalization of the new hospital we hope to create over 3,000 new workplaces’ stated Adrian Caciu, quoted in the press release.    ‘Investments in health are for everybody’s benefit. The European Bank for Investments is happy to support the new regional hospital in Craiova through the biggest loan we have offered for investments in the domain of health in Romania. This new investment, consolidated by the consultative support and technical assistance offered by the European Centre for Consultancy for investments, comes after the support recently offered by BEI for the new regional hospitals in Iasi and Cluj’ stated, it his turn, Christian Kettel Thomson, vice president of the European Bank for Investments.   The two officials discussed about the possible opportunities for collaboration, including, about a loan of 50 million euro for some investments. The minister of domestic affairs, Lucian Bode on an official visit to the US has meetings with the representatives of the State Department, the Department for Domestic Security and the Congress in the domain of road security.The European Bank for Investments (BEI) is the institution for long term lending of the European Union, owned by the member states. This offers financing on a long term for solid investments, with the purpose of contributing to the achievement of political objectives of the EU.
