Energy minister Virgil Popescu met Shell company representatives on Thursday and pointed out he encourages the company's return to the Romanian market and its carrying out long term projects in the energy field, especially in the liquefied natural gas sector. “Today I had a meeting with Shell company representatives, whose delegation was led by Youssef Zoubi, the head of GNL division in Europe and Africa. Talks focused the importance of liquefied natural gas in the present energy context, a viable solution on reducing dependence on imports and the increase of supply safety,” minister Popescu wrote on Facebook. According to the latter, the need to diversify energy sources was asserted, with a view to ensuring national and regional security. “I said I encourage the return of Shell company in the Romanian market, thus expressing the wish to develop a long term partnership, to initiate concrete cooperation projects in the field of energy, especially in the liquefied gas sector,” the minister wrote.
