More than 2,900 Ukrainians employed in Romania since the war started

More than 2,900 Ukrainian citizens have been employed in Romania since the outbreak of the war, Labour Minister Marius Budai said on Friday.According to him, as of Thursday, 5,250 active contracts of Ukrainian citizens were registered in the databases of the Ministry of Labour, of which 2,919 are contracts that started on February 24 or later.Most of the Ukrainian refugees, 905, were employed in the manufacturing industry. Another 457 Ukrainians have found jobs in constructions, while 314 work in administrative and support services.Also, 284 refugees from Ukraine work in hotels and restaurants, and 270 in trade.By counties, the majority of refugees, 804, work in Bucharest, 261 in Bistrita, 218 in Arad and 203 in Timis.    În turn, Minister Education Sorin Cimpeanu announced on Friday that a number of 2,577 refugee pupils and preschoolers from Ukraine have applied to be registered as attendees in Romania's schools and kindergartens, with almost 2,379 of these already distributed.According to him, out of the 2,577 children who applied, 969 are preschoolers and 1,608 pupils.As of Friday, 2,379 of them had already been distributed / enrolled - 938 preschoolers and 1,441 pupils.
