French Chamber of Commerce and Industry: In Romania there are over 4.200 companies with majority French capital

July 21, 2022

Cristina Bojica, member in the board of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Romania (CCIFER) stated recently that there are over 4,200 companies with majority French capital in Romania, and they generated 125,000 direct workplaces.    ‘I will mention what France means in figures. It is the third source of foreign capital in Romania, as you know. There are over 4,200 companies with French majority capital. They became, all of them, important contributors in the economy, and in the Romanian society, and this is not only through the capital they bring which is evident, but by generating almost 125,000 direct workplaces, through the mobilization of numerous SMEs in their production chain, supply chain and so on. But what it is specific to France is that they bring know-how every time they come and bring transfer of technology, similarly, what helped our country in its development’ Cristina Bojica said.   She presented which are the domains of attraction for France.  ‘The domains aimed by foreign investors in Romania are those which represent the points of attraction of Romania and the points of attraction of Romania will be mentioned shortly from the point of view of the French Chamber of Commerce and thus they will be presented to French investors when they want, to develop their activity here. Firstly I mention the belonging to the European Union. But this belonging in the present context has three very concrete factors. It is a unique source of stability, which reduces the risks of foreign investments, as we know, which is at the basis of supplementary financing sources against the financing which we saw presented by the authorities in this event, the financing is source of the Romanian state, European financing which is 80 billion euros available today in the domain of transport infrastructure, health, education, green trading. These domians are domains of interest for French investments’ Cristina Bojica said.   She also stated that the French investors are interested in the IT domain. Other sectors of interest for the French companies in Romania are agro-food and energy.
