A third of the Romanians choose home&deco presents to give them for Christmas

A third of the Romanians (33%) prefer to give for Christmas products from the category home&deco, but on the list of gifts there are also holidays, show the data of the study ‘Shopper Trends Pulse’.According to the survey made y NielsenIQ, quoted by Travelminit.ro, at European level, 37% of the budget allocated for Christmas is reserved for presents, and Romania follows the trend. Thus, most Romanians prefer to give for Christmas products from the category home&deco (33%) as well as clothes, cosmetics or jewellery.On the other hand, more and more Romanians appreciate experience more than material goods for Christmas, so that holiday offers are looked for with interest during this period.In Romania, there is a growing trend for food of local origin, which means the Romanians will try to use more brands from the country for their festive means, an initiative which beneficial impact on the national economy, consider the representatives of the online booking platform.   According to NielsenIQ, almost one third (32%) of the buyers say that this year they will buy more promotion products, in the attempt to reduce costs. Similarly, the pandemics years and the development of digital platforms have changed the habits for acquisition of the consumers, and at present, nine out of ten participants consider they will use the online shops to buy presents for Christmas.Even so, as for food purchases for  holiday festive meals and not only, they will rather go to physical shops, a practice turned into tradition.Set up in Cluj-Napoca, the Travelminit company has been one of the biggest players on the market of hotel booking in Romania, since 2017.   In 2021, Travelminit reported 13.5 million euro from sales, in Romania and 16 million visits on the platform.
