Next Black Sea Basin Program (Interreg VI-B), for which the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration is the Management Authority, was approved by the European Commission, according to a ministry press release. The program has a budget of 72.28 million euros, of which EU funds represent 65.05 million euros, and the national cofinancing of partcipating countries is 7.23 million euros. The eligible area of the Program includes Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine. Romania is eligible with the South-Eastern development region. The Black Sea is a unique sea basin, rich in wildlife, biodiversity and patrimony, a place with exceptional natural resources. Over 2021-2027, the Interreg VI B intends to fully turn to account those resources.
