EU Energy Ministers did not reach an agreement regarding the value of the cap and other elements of the natural gas market correction mechanism, at the EU level, Minister of Energy Virgil Popescu, announced on Wednesday."I participated in the extraordinary meeting of Energy Ministers Council, in Brussels. After two days of discussions and negotiations, the work was completed late last night, but we did not reach an agreement regarding the value of the cap and other elements of the market correction mechanism of the natural gas price, at the level of the European Union," he wrote on his Facebook page.The discussions will continue in the next period."Romania, together with Spain, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania and Slovenia support a reasonable price cap that does not give a signal to the market of price increase, but on the contrary helps to stabilize it at reasonable values. We will continue negotiations in the coming days so as to reach a consensus," the Minister of Energy emphasized.
