SoNoRo Festival in Bucharest and Cluj Napoca has slogan “On the couch”

The international classical music festival SoNoRo is held in Bucharest and Cluj Napoca over October 27- November 12, including locations like the Coral Temple, Expirat Club, in the Royal Dining Room at the National Art Museum in Bucharest and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cluj Napoca.   The festival slogan is “On the couch”, a reference to Freud's psychoanalysis method at the end of the 19th- beginning of 20th century.   “This topic very important for Freud and psychoanalysis inspired us,” said Razvan Popovici, the executive director of Sonoro Association at a press conference. He also mentioned the therapeutic dimension of music and art in general. “Sometimes we are a good remedy of everyday problems because we open these universes and worlds and the audience just steps in,” Popovici added.   The opening concert of the festival will be held on October 27 at Bragadiru Palace in Bucharest by Janoska Ensemble. On October 29, the event “Fairytale Therapy”will be held at the Recent Art Museum, where the exhibition “The Picasso Effect” devoted to the Spanish artist in Romania included 46 works signed by Picasso and 50 works of Romanian artists inspired by him can be visited.   Musicians will perform works like Grieg's Elfin Dance and Leos Janacek's Pohadka/Fairy Tale for celo and piano.   On October 29, “Exposure Therapy” will be presented at Expirat Club. Musicians are invited to relive their traumas or adventures on concert stages in front of the sideince whose participation is essential.   The November 1 event held in the Royal Dining Room is called “Breaking the Tabu”and starts with “Morning”from “Peer Gynt” fpr piano by Grieg. The second part of the concert is devoted to works by Richard Wagner - “Albumblatt & Traume” for violin and piano and “Sigfried's Romance”.   The series of SoNoRo events begin in Cluj-Napoca on November 6 at Casino Urban Culture Center with the concert “Alchemy of Memory”and will end with “Exposure Therapy” on November 11.   Subscriptions for SoNoRo Bucharest and Cluj Napoca editions can be purchased in early bird system, sold with discounts for a period of time. Their prices are 662 lei and 806 lei for Bucharest and 460 and 482 lei for Cluj Napoca.
