Mazars in Romania announces the appointment of two new local Partners

Mazars, the international tax, audit, and advisory firm, announces the appointment of two new local Partners to its Romanian executive board.   As of 1 September 2023, Mazars has appointed Catalina Calinescu and Lucian Dumitru as Outsourcing – HR & Payroll Partner, respectively as Tax Partner, to further strengthen the firm’s capabilities and expertise in key areas of our business.   Catalina joined Mazars in September 2005 and boasts an experience of more than 17 years in offering consultancy to clients from various industries. She is an HR Expert certified by the Ministry of Labour and a member of the National Union of Experts in Labour Law (UNELM).    „This well-deserved promotion acknowledges Catalina’s exceptional performance and strong leadership abilities. Catalina will continue to increase our visibility in all areas of HR & Payroll and contribute to the quality and diversity of our services, while further developing our advisory practice. I have full confidence that, under her guidance, and together with all our colleagues, we will reach new levels of success.”, mentioned Luminita Bornoiu, Partner, Head of Outsourcing, Mazars in Romania.   Commenting on her new challenge, Catalina remarked: „This is a significant step in my career, which comes with new ambitions and goals, and which leads our HR & Payroll business line to a higher, more agile, and client-focused level. I would also like to thank Luminita for being such a thoughtful leader and for guiding me in my development so far, as well as in the future.”   Lucian joined Mazars in February 2017 and boasts an experience of more than 13 years in the field of Direct taxation, including international and corporate taxation, transfer pricing, and taxation for individuals. He is a member of the Romanian Chamber of Tax Consultants and an alumni of King’s College in London.   „We congratulate Lucian for his new role and the extraordinary results he has achieved over the last years in Mazars.
