Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Romania, down to5.5pct in July 2023

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Romania dropped to 5.5% in July 2023, down by 0.1 percentage points on a monthly basis, according to data published on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).Male unemployment was 0.6 percentage points higher than female unemployment.The number of the unemployed (aged 15-74) estimated for July 2023 was 455,400 people, down from the previous month's 457,400 people, and up y-o-y.By gender, male unemployment exceeded female unemployment by 0.6 percentage points - 5.8% to 5.2%.According to INS, a high level of 22.3% of the unemployment rate among young people (15-24 years) continues to stand out.Adult unemployment (25-74 years old) was estimated at 4.5% for July 2023 (4.2% for women and 4.7% for men).The number of unemployed aged 25-74 made up 77.3% of the July 2023 total estimates.
