November 7, 2023

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu is participating today in Varna, Bulgaria, in a meeting of the Romania-Bulgaria-Greece three-way co-operation format along with a government retinue.According to a government press release, on the sidelines of this meeting, Ciolacu will have a trilateral meeting with his counterparts from Bulgaria, Nikolai Denkov, and from Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as well as bilateral meetings with the prime ministers the two countries. The Romanian government delegation will participate in working meetings on regional security, and energy and transport co-operation scheduled during the event in Varna."This trilateral format is a factor for strengthening co-operation among our countries and in the region in areas of strategic importance not only to us, but to the whole of Europe, especially in this complicated context generated by the war launched by Russia against Ukraine. The meetings that I will have in Varna will be a continuation of the discussions I have already had with my counterparts from Bulgaria and Greece, and I am convinced that the solutions we can find together open perspectives for integration and for projects of interest to Romania," Ciolacu is quoted as saying in the press release.
