International Comedy Film Festival Film 4 Fun to take place November 3-5, in Bucharest

The 15th edition of the international comedy film festiva "Film 4 Fun" returns to the capital, from November 3 to 5, at Cinemateca Eforie and ArCub.According to a press release sent on Monday, the international comedy short film competition includes 30 films representing 17 countries - France (seven productions), Spain (five), Germany, Italy and Romania (two each), Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Iran, Israel, the UK, Mexico and the USA (one film each).The comedy short films in the competition, completed after November 1 2021, were selected by film critic Mihai Fulger from 805 productions from all over the world entered in the festival. Of the films in competition, 27 will also be available online, free of charge, worldwide on the festival website (www.Film4Fun.ro) on November 3 and 4 . These 27 comedy short films are in the race for the Audience Award, which is determined by the votes of viewers who watch the films.The international competition jury, composed of French film critic Fabien Baumann (from Positif magazine), Romanian actress Andreea Vasile and Romanian-French cinematographer and director Horea Laptes, will award prizes for Best Short Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay.The programme of the 15th edition also includes two new comedy features at the Cinemateca Eforie. Audiences will have the opportunity to watch the Romanian premiere of the Hollywood action comedy Freelance /Bodyguardul: Misiune în jungla (directed by Pierre Morel) and the preview of "Northern Comfort", a co-production Iceland - UK - Germany directed by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigur?sson."With this event we aim to promote a popular form of entertainment - comedy, a film genre not at all easy - to attract audiences to theatres. The festival's presentation of both Romanian and international comedy films is a good opportunity to bring both established and newcomers to the audience. This year, Film 4 Fun will take place at the Cinemateca Eforie, where the first edition of the festival took place, as well as at ArCub," said producer, director, editor and teacher Laura Georgescu Baron, founding director of Film 4 Fun.The International Comedy Film Festival "Film 4 Fun" is organised by the Cine Remember Foundation, with the support of the National Cinematography Centre, DACIN SARA, the Romanian Filmmakers' Union and ArCub.
