Over a quarter of Romanian managers (27%) said they are worried because of the labor force shortage in the first semester of 2023, according to data of Confidex , a labor force market survey. According to a Confidex study, made by Impetum Group, now at the 9th edition, labor force crisis has been, since the beginning of the ongoing year, the Romanian managers' greatest fear, surpassing even the price rise phenomenon. As for the degree of trust of the business environment in economy, 27% of managers are worried because of the labor force shortage, in semester 1, 2023, 16% more compared to data reported at the end of 2022. According to some managers, a solution to the problem could be the integration of employees from the public system into the private one. Another solution may be the import of human resources, which unfortunately proved to be a complicated process. Since Romania is not an attractive country for immigrant workers, using them could be a real challenge, authors of the study say. “The labor force crisis is generated, on one hand, by the shortage of human resources specialised in specific domains of activity and, on the other hand, by the fact that the local labor force market is not attractive enough so as to find, at local level, talented people who can reach performaces,” said Andrei Cionca, general manager of Impetum Group. Confidex is the only longitudinal study in Romania that measures the Romanian managers' confidence in economy and is able to decrypt challenges gaced by the local business environment. The survey, made by Impetum Group, has been offering, for three years, a clear image of Romanian businessmen's perceptions. Over 2,500 entrepreneurs and C level executives have contributed to the latest 8 editions of the study.
