(The “Romania IT” Pavilion has distinct procedure for selection and it will be announced in first quarter of next year).

The Web Summit is Europe's leading tech event, an annual meeting that brings together tens of thousands of participants from over 150 countries to learn about trends and solutions to problems in everything from healthcare and education to climate change, agriculture and transport. After many years in which people from the tech community in Romania made efforts on their own to attend this iconic event in the field, we are glad that since 2023 Romania has had a national booth with 28 companies. The fact that one of these companies, Kinderpedia - a brand that we see rapidly expanding abroad, reached the Pitch finals for startups shows us again the extremely high level of innovation of the Romanian founders", said Daniel Giurea, President of ARIES Timisoara.

Making it to the finals of the Web Summit Startup Competition was a great accomplishment for Kinderpedia and an amazing recognition of the transformation that we drive in schools and kindergartens, across the geographies where we are present. We are confident that the awareness we gained in Lisbon will help us in identifying potential investors as well as corporate and governmental partners to support our growth and expand our social impact.Evelina Necula, Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Kinderpedia. The Web Summit experience also gave us the opportunity to feel the positive energy and support of the Romanian entrepreneurial community present in Lisbon and beyond, and, for this, we are infinitely gratefuladded the entrepreneur.

<<Web Summit is an incredibly strong and concentrated driver of business networking and internationalisation for tech organisations that focus on fast growth. Since 2016, when 19 companies from Romania attended with a booth, our country's presence at the summit grew nicely up to 47 companies and over 300 Romanian people attending. The biggest achievements of this year remain the Romania ITpavilion, organised with the support of by Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trades by ARIES Timișoara, and, of course, the climb up in the startup final of a Romanian company, Kinderpedia. I see it as a great leap for our tech ecosystem and we are excited we, with Techcelerator and ROTSA, have been part of it>> stated Cristina Țoncu, Co-founder & ProgramPartner Techcelerator and Regional Director Romanian Tech Startups Association (ROTSA).
