Maxi Pet opens a new hypermarket for pets, in Râmnicu Vâlcea, after a total investment of 250,000 euros

November 30, 2023

Maxi Pet, the national leader in the trade of pet food and accessories, is expanding its network with a new hypermarket in Râmnicu Vâlcea, after a total investment of 250,000 euros. The retailer thus reaches a total of 15 stores nationwide.

The new unit is in Retail Park Râmnicu Vâlcea (Strada Posada, no. 51), being the first Maxi Pet hypermarket in Vâlcea county. The store opens on November 30, and for three days (November 30 - December 2) customers benefit from the inaugural promotion of 15% off all products, while stocks last.

With an area of approximately 400 square meters and 8 employees, the store also has a veterinary pharmaceutical point on its premises, with specialized staff who offer free advice on pet health, nutrition, and hygiene, this being a unique project on the pet products market.

The Maxi Pet hypermarket has a varied range of over 15,000 food, toys, accessories and hygiene and health products – shampoos, hygiene solutions, supplements and medicines.

"The demand for quality products for pets leads us to expand in strategic areas for our business. We are in a special market, continuously growing, more and more Romanians have at least one pet. In addition, Romanians consider pets members of the family and offer them all the necessary conditions and quality food, but also provide them with useful accessories, which is why the demand for specialty products has increased by 10% in the last year. The local pet retail market is increasingly strong, being an important landmark in the region for growth opportunities", says Miruna Diaconescu, Marketing Director, Pet Network International.

At the same time, part of the business is generated by the growing sales from the Maxi-pet.ro online store, where orders arrive from all over the country, including from the countryside, where demand is growing.

Maxi Pet is the largest hypermarket network with products for pets, with units in Bucharest, Iasi, Sibiu, Ploiesti, Craiova, Timișoara, Piatra Neamț, Târgu Mureș, Târgu Jiu, Suceava and Cluj-Napoca. Maxi Pet is part of the Pet Network group, along with Animax stores. Pet Network, the leader of the pet retail market, is the omnichannel network of products and services for pets, operating in Southeast Europe through several brands present in Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bulgaria.
