SMEs in Hunedoara county can benefit from EUR 181 M through the Just Transition Mechanism

 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Hunedoara County can benefit from non-refundable financing worth almost 181 million euros through the Just Transition Programme intended, mainly, for companies that create new jobs in the areas affected by the closure of the mines.The financing guide of the Just Transition Mechanism (JTM) 2021-2027 for "Development of Enterprises and Entrepreneurship - Investments for the Development of SMEs," was presented to entrepreneurs from Hunedoara county on the occasion of a caravan organized by the Agency for Regional Development (ADR) West, an intermediate body for JTM in Hunedoara county.Thus, the Hunedoara County will benefit from almost 181 million euros for productive investments in SMEs, of which 49 million euros for productive investments in Valea Jiului. The calls will finance actions regarding the development of productive investments in SMEs that support sustainable growth and job creation.JTM offers support to the population, the economy and the environment in areas that have suffered from the closure of mines or refineries and has as its main objective the generation of sustainable and safe jobs and the support of sustainable economic diversification.The programme has a total budget of 2.5 billion euros, and the Hunedoara County will receive more than 525 million euros. Of this amount, 446 million euros represents the allocation from the European Union through the Just Transition Fund, and 78.8 million represents the national contribution.
