Memorandum between the Government and Romanian economic sectors on the development of partnerships for energy transition

The development of partnership for energy transition between the government of Romania and the Romanian economic sectors, under the aegis of the Interministerial Committee regarding climatic changes (milestone 414 target of the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience) was approved, through memorandum by the executive in the last meeting in December 2023.According to a press release, this memorandum approved the framework for the establishment of partnerships for energy transition that the Government has committed, through milestones 413 and 414 of the PNRR, to launch with the economic sectors in Romania in order to establish together the ways to achieve the goal of climate neutrality assumed at the country level.   "In order to meet the climate change priorities for 2023 and 2024 related to the development of an Industrial Plan for Romania and partnerships for energy transition, the memorandum provides for the conclusion of cooperation protocols with the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, the Ministry of Energy, the National Agency for Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests and the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitisation," the release said.   It is also planned to adopt a public policy document, under the coordination of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, to create the necessary basis for the development of a medium- and long-term Industrial Plan for Romania in the context of the European Green Deal, as well as to develop a methodological framework for developing, monitoring and evaluating energy transition partnerships.
